Medical care and health insurance

1. Students from the EU countries coming to Poland should bring with them their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as it allows them to access medical services on the same rules as Polish citizens.
2. Students from outside the EU should obtain health insurance in their home countries before coming to Poland. They can also buy themselves Polish health insurance.
3. Students can access public health service on basis NFZ (National Medical Fund) medical insurance.
4. Besides public health service system one can also use the services of the private medical system (at own cost).
5. All students of Warsaw University of Technology must obtain Accident Effects Insurance (Ubezpieczenie od Następstw Nieszczęśliwych Wypadków – NNW). The insurance is valid for one academic year (1st of October – 30th of September).
